The Minot State University Beavers routed the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustang softball team in their doubleheader on Saturday, March 30, 2013. The Beavers snagged a 12-2 victory in game one, and 9-1 victory in game two.
In game one, Amy Dreessen and Morgan Peterson were the only Mustangs to record hits. Dreessen went 2 for three, blasting a single-run homer, while Peterson recorded a home run of her own, which was her only hit in game one.
Rachel Groff took the loss, her second of the season. She allowed 13 hits, six walks, and 12 earned runs in just over five innings.
The Mustangs were first to put runs on the board in game two, scoring in the top of the first. However, Minot State would respond by scoring in every inning, ending the game in six innings. The Beavers scored nine runs on 13 hits.
Rachel Hoeppner suffered the loss for the Mustangs. Hoeppner pitched all 4.1 innings, walking two and allowing nine runs on 13 hits.
With the loss, the Mustangs fall to a record of 9-7 overall.
