About halfway through the last school year, the Campus Religious Center found a new pastor, Reverend Jeff Greathouse.
Jeff Greathouse is from West Virginia. He is the Youth Pastor at St. Stephen’s. From the very start Jeff has brought enthusiasm and energy to the CRC (Campus Religious Center), where he has reinvented a room into what has become the beach ball Jesus room. It is a place where you can come no matter what your faith is or even if you have one and just hang out.
Besides the iconic wood cut-out of a Jesus holding a beach ball, where the room’s name is derived from, it is also decorated with some more modern motivational posters, from Rocky to Bob Marley and a few of the campus’ most comfortable couches to nap on.
Besides taking naps and hanging out, you can also attend mass on the weekend provided by the Newman Club, which is a Catholic youth group. And on Monday nights you can also attend a worship/bible study lead by Rev. Jeff Greathouse, where not only will they feed you, but you can have some exciting and, at times, heated conversations.
I have been to a few of them and I have never felt pressured to do anything and I have never had my views pushed aside. So if you’re looking for a place to hang out and play Settlers of Catan, take a nap or to grow a spiritual side, the CRC is a pretty cool place to be.
