Perceptions, the Southwest Minnesota State University Literary Journal, comes out once a school year. This year, the deadline is on Feb. 18. Students, staff, faculty, and alumni are encouraged to submit short works of fiction and non-fiction, poetry, 10 minute scripts, graphic novels, art, and photography. The 2014 edition will be different from past years, as the entire journal will be in color. This means art work and photography submissions will jump from greyscale to full color.
Todd Chalmers, current Managing Editor said, “Getting published is a big deal as an undergraduate. For students aiming toward careers in writing, or those who are working toward a graduate program, getting published now shows initiative and drive. Perceptions is the perfect place for student writers to get started.”
Submissions can be sent to [email protected]. Questions about submitting can also be sent to the same e-mail or to one of the editors, information can be found online.
