It’s that time of year again. Blizzards, endless commercials, strings of lights all over, yeah, it’s time for Christmas decorations.
But, just like the arguments of Black Friday starting on Thursday, how soon is too soon for decorations? Last year, Thanksgiving fell on Nov. 22, which meant there were almost four and a half weeks between then and Christmas. This year, Thanksgiving was on Nov. 28, leaving decorators with a little over three weeks.
For those types who live for holiday decorations, that isn’t much time to enjoy the build-up to the holiday. Is Thanksgiving too soon to decorate? My family usually puts everything together over the weekend because we’re all home. It makes sense. And the people who go all out need that extra bit of time to make sure all the lights work and all the inflatable snowmen don’t have holes in them.
I used to be the kind of person who thought decorating before Thanksgiving was too soon, but with the way the calendar falls and the passion some people have for decorating for holidays, I’m starting to think that it shouldn’t be a large issue.
