College can be one of the first big divisions in a young couples’ relationship. However, if you’re unable to get home to your sweetie, there are plenty of things that you can do to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Start with a text in the morning. It’s simple, but if this is something you already do, make it special. This is, after all, the one day a year where people go nuts over love. Going about your day, send them some more.
Usually people go out for supper. I know as college kids, we don’t always have a ton of money, but there’s a two-step process that’s super easy to do. Pick a time, preferably after you’d be finished with that night’s homework so you don’t dismiss it entirely, and have a Skype Dinner Date. It doesn’t matter if you get a cheeseburger from McDonald’s or a pizza from the food court, each of you should get something and share it over your date.
Another big part of Valentine’s Day is gifts (or candy, depending on your preferences). This one might take a little planning, but it’s worth it and who doesn’t love getting mail? If you do this, make sure it’s sent so that your package will get to its destination on or around the fourteenth. Why not go even farther and open them on your dollar menu dinner date?
Being apart can be hard, especially on Valentine’s Day, but getting creative with your sweetheart can make it the most memorable one yet.
