With plenty of advertisements on Pandora, Hulu, and elsewhere, I’m sure plenty of readers have heard of Lumosity.com. For those of you who haven’t, it’s a site that provides mentally stimulating games designed to improve your attention, problem-solving skills, and memory.
As someone who’s signed up with Lumosity, I have some insight on the matter. It does cost money; while the first few games are free, you need to sign up for a memebership to enjoy full access as well as having a brain profile created for you. The price isn’t bad: one month for fifteen dollars, or packages for a year or two years at considerably less per month.
The ads say that it feels just like playing video games, which is partially true. They’re fun, I’ll admit, but they’re challenging too, keeping you on your toes, a different experience from blasting away zombies.
I can say that I do feel sharper when I remember to play the recommended five games a day, and the brain profile is cool to see. It’s worth checking out!
