Any classic rock fans out there remember the band Deep Purple? Among their greatest hits is their popular Smoke on the Water. They also performed “Child in Time, “Fireball”, “Hush”, and so many more.
It might surprise you, then, to listen to former guitarist Ritchie Blackmore today. In a band he formed with his then-girlfriend now-wife, he and Candice Night brought their names together and formed band named Blackmore’s Night using Renaissance, Rock, and Pop influences. Ritchie plays acoustic and electic guitar, while Candice does lead vocals and a multitude of instruments.
Blackmore’s Night debut album “Shadow and the Moon” came out in 1997 and their most recent album came out this year titled “Dancer and the Moon”. Though they seem to have a smaller American fanbase, they are largely loved by a huge, worldwide fanbase.
