With midterms around the corner, these tips and tricks are going to be a little more rambunctious.
1. If you have to choose between locking yourself in your room/the library or doing something crazy epic, go with the latter. Mind you, if you’re procrastinating and your presentation is due in the next 24 hours, go with that, then epic adventure.
2. Don’t wait until you’re a senior to pick that major you’re dying inside to choose. Why sit around for years, building debt and bouncing between 20 majors? Dive into the one you really want and work as hard as you can on it. If you love it, it won’t feel like work.
3. Go hang out in the dorm lobby (but don’t be creepy about it). Chances are, if you’re stressing out about coursework, someone else in your dorm will be too. Play a board game, watch Nickelodeon. (Spongebob doesn’t make you think too hard.)
4. Talk to your advisor. Talk about life outside of school, what you want for your future, how classes are going. Chances are your advisor will dole out some great advice. There is a reason why they were chosen to advise a handful of students after all.
5. Check out what’s free on campus. Go to sporting events, go to student nights for theater, go to readings, it doesn’t take money to have fun and de-stress.
