Due to recent events at the VMAs, when people hear of Robin Thicke, they think of the disturbing performance he did with Miley Cyrus.
That is not who Thicke is.
Born in L.A. of parents in the entertainment industry, it’s no wonder that Thicke pursued a singing career. At 7 years old, young Thicke was listening to classics like Michael Jackson, Prince, Van Halen and Poison. By age 12 he had taught himself how to play the piano, and by age 16 he was writing and producing songs for artists like Brandy and Brain McKnight. By age 21 he had written and produced songs on over 20 platinum and gold albums including Michael Jackson, Pink, and Christina Aguilera.
“Lost Without U” from his platinum album was one of Thicke’s first major hits. And everyone at some point heard his current chart topper, “Blurred Lines.”
If you’re looking for a guy to hook-up with, you’ll have to look elsewhere, ladies. (Yes, Miley Cyrus, you too.) Thicke is a married man as of 2005. His wife, Paula Patton, has starred in films such as Hitch and Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol.
These two have been in a long-term relationship since they first began dating as teens. They now have a son.
