“Haven” released Aug. 1 2025, Sam Jeffrey, the frontman of Strayhouse, has been playing local shows to promote the band.
The music was energizing the audience, it seemed like they were trying to be louder than the band. After the set was done they demanded an encore, which Strayhouse supplied, leaving the audience satiated.
Jeffrey says, his favorite part of performing was, “seeing people being able to gather together, students and staff alike, engaging with the music and interacting with the band.”
Strayhouse strives to bring “a new wave of alt rock to strays around the world,” according to their bio on Spotify. Adding to that idea Jeffrey says, “I was inspired by seventies through nineties sub-genres and liked the more authentic and less digitized sounds.” On top of that, he tries “Bringing that sound back with a more modern framework.”
He says, the work he put into “Haven” has made him, “appreciate the work that goes into creating a song from the ground up”
Jeffrey has big idea’s for the future of Strayhouse, saying, “I want the next projects to be bolder,” with ideas to “tap into more genre influences” and “incorporate a broader sound.”
